OUR IMPACT
New Legacy Collective was incubated as a grantmaking strategy called Cultivating Repair at Omidyar Network.
When we consider the state of society today, we’re proud of what CRCI represents – a spirit of relationship-building, collaboration, and care in a moment when trust, democracy, and belonging are at stake.
CRCI captures the heart of why New Legacy Collective exists today, from our refusal to accept societal harm as the norm, to our willingness to think critically about what does or doesn’t help us build a future of belonging for all.
The Cultivating Repair Catalyst Initiative (CRCI) was our core community and flagship endeavor. The Cultivating Repair Catalyst Initiative (CRCI) connected courageous, earlier-stage efforts to seed repair and healing of the legacies of colonialism and slavery across the United States.
CULTIVATING REPAIR GRANTEE PARTNERS
Cultivating Repair had three aims:
To connect organizations practicing various approaches to repair
To foster creative expressions of healing after trauma
To strengthen collaborative funding so that the broader repair ecosystem can thrive.
We would like to express our deep gratitude to the people and partners who have informed and shaped our path to date especially:
Simone Hill, Janice Tolbert, Manna Selassie, Michele Jawando, David Hsu, Nicole Allred, Andrew Brennen, Liberation Ventures, Decolonizing Wealth Project, Equity and Transformation Chicago, and Resonance Network.
