Executive Director

Vanessa Mason serves as the inaugural executive director for New Legacy Collective. Prior, she led collaborative efforts to heal the legacies of slavery and colonialism and cultivate a healthy culture of repair in the United States as a principal at Omidyar Network.

Vanessa has worked as a research director for the Institute for the Future where she advised clients leveraging strategic foresight. In this role, she led research to explore possible futures, and support organizations across business, social, and civic sectors in anticipating and preparing strategies that foster greater well-being and belonging amid a rapidly changing world. Trained as a social science researcher, Vanessa has extensive experience working at the intersection of inclusive design, innovation, and health for a variety of global companies. She has been recognized as a 2018 Aspen Ideas Festival Spotlight Health Scholar, 40 Under 40 Tech Diversity Silicon Valley, 2016 New Leaders Council San Francisco Fellow, 200 Black Women in Tech to Follow on Twitter, and as a 2016 TEDMED Research Scholar. 

Vanessa holds a MPH with a focus on global health from Columbia University and a B.A. in psychology from Yale University. 

Director of Community Engagement & Strategic Initiatives

Fanta Condé serves as Director of Community Engagement & Strategic Initiatives at New Legacy Collective.

A creative strategist with experience across policy and advocacy, community engagement, and equity-centered initiatives, she has supported programs at the intersection of democracy, culture, and social repair. Most recently at Omidyar Network, she co-designed a belonging centered grantmaking strategy focused on fostering repair in the United States. Her work has spanned multi-funder strategy development, and the integration of cultural and spiritual levers into institutional frameworks. 

She is the founder of Auteur Hues, a consulting firm that supports organizations engaged in philanthropy, community-based work, governance, and policy at local, national, and international levels. Her broader experience brings together cultural restitution research, economic democracy advocacy, cooperative organizing, urban planning initiatives, and work in participatory democracy and civic engagement.

She holds an MPP from the University of Michigan and a dual B.A. in Political Science and Philosophy from Pennsylvania State University.

Jessyca Dudley (she/her) is an experienced social sector leader and strategic advisor who has supported individuals and organizations to shape their strategy, implementation, and learning to advance racial equity. Jessyca Dudley is a pioneering leader reimagining wealth's role in society through community-driven leadership and equitable systems. As Founder and CEO of Bold Ventures, she has directed over $60 million to BIPOC-led organizations, creating equity-centered funding strategies that disrupt traditional philanthropy and support divested communities.

Jessyca draws on over 15 years of social sector expertise, having led Chicago African Americans in Philanthropy and served as a Director at Arabella Advisors. Jessyca’s impact also includes co-founding the South Side Giving Circle and teaching at the University of Chicago, where she inspires the next generation of philanthropic trailblazers. With a Master of Public Health from the University of Illinois Chicago and a Bachelor’s in Women’s Studies from Skidmore College, she champions a strategic, evidence-based vision for equitable capitalism.

Caitlin Duffy (she/her) is a network weaver and intergenerational storyteller whose career in the organized money ecosystem brought her from time banking to commercial banking. 

Since 2019, Caitlin has served as First Vice President of Philanthropy Banking for Amalgamated Bank, the country's largest socially responsible, B Corporation bank. As a commercial banker, Caitlin leads strategy and relationship management for mission-driven organizations such as nonprofits and foundations, supporting values alignment across banking, giving, investing, and lending needs.

Caitlin's work builds on more than 15 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, including 6 years of research, programming, and funder organizing with the National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy. Caitlin was a 2021-2022 Fellow with the Just Economy Institute and has served in leadership roles with the Diverse City Fund, the DC chapters of Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy and Showing Up for Racial Justice, and Philanthropy DMV. Currently, Caitlin convenes a regional community of practice called Liberation Beyond Whiteness to organize and support DC area philanthropic leaders of European descent – including those who identify as white, Jewish, biracial, and recent immigrants and refugees – in the transformation of white dominant culture in US institutional philanthropy. 

Raised in rural New Jersey as a descendant of German and Polish farmers and Irish fisherfolk who settled on Lenni-Lenape land, she earned a B.A. in Spanish from The College of New Jersey. In 2012, she moved to the DC area for an M.A. in Ethics, Peace, and Human Rights from American University’s School of International Service, and now lives on Piscataway land in Silver Spring, Maryland.

Dr. Tonyel Edwards (she/her) is a partner at The Bridgespan Group with deep experience advancing systems-level strategies that support healing, repair, and long-term community transformation. Her work spans philanthropy, place-based investment, and cross-sector collaboration, with a focus on shifting institutions and resources toward more just and restorative outcomes. She is co-author of Philanthropy’s Role in Reparations and Building a Culture of Racial Repair and has led significant initiatives across early childhood systems, community-school models, neighborhood development, and cross-system efforts with child welfare and juvenile justice to improve outcomes for youth and families. Previously, she held senior leadership roles at Houston Endowment, where she helped deploy more than $40 million to community-rooted organizations and advised on the city’s philanthropic response to Hurricane Harvey and the expansion of childcare access for essential workers during COVID-19. Earlier in her career, she served as an executive director, national nonprofit leader, classroom educator, and investment banker. Tonyel holds a BBA from Howard University and a Master’s and Doctorate in Education from the University of Houston, and she currently serves on multiple civic and nonprofit boards.
